The perspectives from WB on CT and gender at the ATC event were presented by Dr. Vedada Barakovic University of Tuzla (BiH) speaking about the gender approach in enhancing strategic communications.

Ms. Elvira Hadzibegovic Bubanja Forum MNE (Montenegro) speaking about the education and community engagement of women in the function of CVE

Dr. Angelos Kaskanis, Project Manager of theTactics Institute for Security and Counter-Terrorism (UK) who was speaking about the socio-economic vulnerabilities and their impact upon radicalization of women in Western Balkans.

Another excellent lecture by Dr. Lora Pitman, Adjunct Assistant Professor from the University of Maine was about “Lessons learned from the case of ISIS recruitment of women: A gender perspective”. She provided an overview of the recruitment efforts of ISIS and specifically about ISIS recruitment of women and recommended strategies against recruitment of women for radical organizations.

The lecture by Mr. W Bradley Cotton, Public safety expert and consultant (Canada), was covering important aspects of community roles and perspectives for gender mainstreaming. He shared experience with Situation Tables- multi-disciplinary, collaborative teams designed to mitigate acute risk.
